After relevant professional activities in the fields of materials handling technology, logistics and waste management, he was appointed to the recycling technology department at the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences in Gelsenkirchen in 1994. Currently, his work focuses on the design of recycling processes and process engineering for future energy sources.
Prof. Holzhauer is active in various associations. He is a member of the advisory board of the VDI Society for Energy and Environmental Technology, managing director of the Ruhr Economic Development Center for Circular Economy, and director of the “Resources and Sustainability” department of the NRW Doctoral College.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Brümmer
Prof Dr.-Ing. Thomas Brümmer studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University. From 2004 to 2008, he was a research assistant at the Institute of Plastics Processing at RWTH Aachen University, where he completed his doctorate in the field of extrusion blow molding.
From 2009 to 2015, he worked for an automotive supplier as a project manager in research and development in the field of failure analysis of elastomer, thermoplastic and metal composite components. He then moved to the consumer goods industry. There he was responsible for product development for plastic packaging and its molding tools. In this context, he supervised the additive manufacturing processes for prototype production
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Brümmer has been a professor at WHS Gelsenkirchen since 2020 for the teaching area of materials technology and resource management.
